Authors can pick the services they need.

Full-service publishing includes cover design, formatting, copyediting, and things like obtaining your copyright. A fee of $1000 covers fees from third vendors. My hourly rate is $50 for all other services (including editorial work and the behind-the-scenes work required to bring your work to publication. For an average novel, this is generally between 35 – 45 hours.

For books that have more complicated formatting (cookbooks and photo/illustration-heavy works), the flat fee may need to be adjusted. A price will be negotiated with the author before any work begins and before any contract is signed.

Editorial services include copyediting, proofreading, and some developmental editing should you require it. This work is charged by the hour.

I work with a cover design company and a formatting company. If you’re looking for help with only these two things, my fee is $500 plus the costs charged for your cover and formatting. Formatting costs are dependent on your word count and any illustrations or photographs inside your book. I am happy to provide a quote for your specific project.
